Hi and Welcome!
I'm going to share some pet peeves, travel stories and possibly throw in a few comments on novel writing and reading (along with anything else that might occur to me.) I tend to be a bit dry-witted (some say dim-witted.) I will not try to be offensive, but if you arrive with a chip on your shoulder or some hyper-sensitivity, please go away.
Warning: There is no laugh track here. You might have to think.
Curtrich.com has a nice intro: I quote him here, in part, with his permission:
"[I take] no responsibility for the reader's lack of sense of humor or reading appreciation or comprehension skills....If the reader is offended by anything the author writes, the author apologizes profusely and suggests the reader either (a) points his browser elsewhere or (b) gets a life. . . . . (Angry letters to the editor should be accompanied by a $100 fee and will be graded and corrected before reply.) "
